I never get past the shock of how bad people lie on their profile. Living in San Diego for over 20 yrs, I know A LOT of people. I get irritated when I see people take 10 yrs off their age and 30 lbs off their weight and then lie about how uncomplicated and drama free they are (always a warning sign to me). IM very honest about my stats and age, and make no bones about being who I am. The problem: since lying is the norm, most people assume im 48 (not 38) and 30 lbs overweight.

This entry also reminds me of one of my guilty pleasures. I love reading vintage women's magazines. There is nothing more fun than reading articles on "how to get your man" from the 1950s. YOU got your man and kept him by following simple rules like: Always laugh when he says something funny, always smile when you are in his presences, hang on to ever word he speaks, and never say anything bad about someone else. It all makes sense why all those women got addicted to valium the following decade.
